Happy National S'mores Day

Today is National S'mores Day and we couldn't be more excited at Southern Sweets. It's August and that means fall is near. What better way to celebrate those last few summer days and welcome cooler weather than with a nice chocolaty treat?!?!?!? Below we have a few recipes and tips for making s'mores. Enjoy!!!
S'mores
Ingredients
Graham Crackers
HERSHEY Chocolate Bars
Marshmallow
Skewer or stick for roasting mashmallow
Directions
1. Break a graham crackers in half and place a piece of chocolate on one of the halves.
2. Put marshmallow on stick and roast over an open flame (adult supervision is required).
3. Once the marshmallow is roasted to your desire, place it on top of the cracker with the chocolate and then place the other graham cracker on top of the marshmallow. Carefully pull the marshmallow off the stick.
4. Let the marshmallow cool slightly before eating.
Tip: To make things a little more interesting, consider using a Reese's Cup instead of a HERSHEY bar or 2 chocolate chip cookie instead of graham crackers.
Quick and Easy S'mores Dip
Ingredients
Graham Crackers
HERSHEY Chocolate Bars
Marshmallow
Butter Flavored Nonstick Spray
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Spray an oven safe container with the nonstick spray.
3. Layer broken pieces of chocolate on the bottom of the dish.
4. Layer the marshmallows on top of the chocolate.
5. Bake dish in the oven for 5-8 minutes or until marshmallows are toasted.
6. Let chill for 5 minutes.
7. Serve with graham crackers.
Tip: If you're making this while camping, use a cast iron skillet and heat over a fire until the chocolate has melted and the marshmallows begin to toast.
DIY S'mores Stations
We all love s'mores but we don't always want to stand outside to make them. Here are a few indoor alternatives to a fire pit for making s'mores.
Sterno Can S'more Station
Supplies
Sterno Can (one for each station)
Rocks
Long narrow box to house the s'mores station
Directions
1. Line the box with the rocks.
2. Set the sterno cans in the rocks.
3. Light the sterno cans when you're ready to start making s'mores.
Terracotta Pot S'more Station
Supplies
Small Terracotta Pot
Foil
Charcoal
Directions
1. Line the inside of the terracotta pot with foil.
2. Fill the pot with charcoal.
3. Light the charcoal when you're read to start making s'mores.
