Updated: Apr 29, 2020

An image of toasted marshmallows on top of chocolate in a cast iron skillet with graham crackers on the side.

Today is National S'mores Day and we couldn't be more excited at Southern Sweets. It's August and that means fall is near. What better way to celebrate those last few summer days and welcome cooler weather than with a nice chocolaty treat?!?!?!? Below we have a few recipes and tips for making s'mores. Enjoy!!!

Graham Crackers

HERSHEY Chocolate Bars

Skewer or stick for roasting mashmallow

1. Break a graham crackers in half and place a piece of chocolate on one of the halves.

2. Put marshmallow on stick and roast over an open flame (adult supervision is required).

3. Once the marshmallow is roasted to your desire, place it on top of the cracker with the chocolate and then place the other graham cracker on top of the marshmallow. Carefully pull the marshmallow off the stick.

4. Let the marshmallow cool slightly before eating.

Tip: To make things a little more interesting, consider using a Reese's Cup instead of a HERSHEY bar or 2 chocolate chip cookie instead of graham crackers.
